Wireway/Husky
Corp., one of the largest producers of material handling products in
the country, is based in Denver, N.C.
Its Husky ® products include pallet racks, welded wire-deck,
cable reel racks and pallet rack guarding systems.
Additionally a whole range of security wire partition
products are produced and marketed under the ‘Wireway ®’ brand
name.
Family
owned and operated since 1964, Wireway/Husky has continued to
prosper due to commitment to product development, quality control
and most importantly, customer satisfaction. Through a vast network
of distributors, Wireway/Husky services the Material Handling
industry nationwide with high quality products and a renowned market
service ethic evidenced by its shipping accuracy, short lead-times
and reliability of delivery.
The
story of Wireway/Husky's rise to success can be traced to its
original production facility in Sterling, Mass. Here the company
first became synonymous with quality manufacturing by producing
their elegant security wire partition products. The distinctive
woven wire design set the standard in the industry and provided the
means for the company to grow.
This
base of sales created the stability for continued growth through
into the 80's.There was business and demand enough for both expanded
production capabilities and the development of a new factory,
Wireway ® South. Conveniently
located in the rapidly growing commercial hub of Charlotte N.C., the
company's new facility, opened in 1982, providing customers with
greatly expanded shipping potential.
After
this successful expansion, the stage was set for perhaps the biggest
step in the company’s history: the acquisition of Husky systems in
1985.
Manufacturing
pallet rack from its factory in Atlanta, Ga., Husky Systems
presented an opportunity to join products that shared the same
customer base, a customer base already established and familiar with
the quality of the Wireway ® name.
After first assimilating the Husky line in Atlanta, economies
of scale were realized by moving Husky to a newly constructed
production facility in Charlotte (or more accurately the Charlotte
suburb of Denver, NC). Upon
completion, Wireway ® was Wireway/Husky ®, and the line was similar
to that seen today.
Rising
sales, facility expansions and product development marked the early
90's. It was also during this time the company re-revolutionized the
wire partition industry with the introduction of E-Z-Wire
partitioning. The new partition’s hook system swept the industry
with its ease of installation, security and quality.
Even now, it is still only true ‘EZ’ installation product
on the market.
Most
recently, in 1999, Wireway/Husky complemented its Husky rack line
with full-scale in-house production of welded wire deck. This made,
and still makes, Wireway/Husky the only company in the industry to
manufacture and sell both of these completely interrelated products
under one roof. With
this considerable capital investment, Husky gained the ability to
deliver both rack and deck together on one truck for easy reliable
installation. This
gives Husky the unique ability to ensure the installation of a
customers selective rack distribution center on-time and with the
minimum of co-ordination issues.
Wireway/Husky
recognizes that in today's competitive market it must continually
raise the bar of quality, service, and product development to
maintain its status as an industry leader.
By identifying, acquiring and developing new technology, the
company has consistently re-defined itself within the industry to
develop its ability to meet all of its customers needs. It will
continue to do so, to ensure it remains the true
"one-stop-shop" for the very best in material handling
products.
